No âmbito das suas competências no que se concerne à matéria de informação pública, a Câmara Municipal de Loulé, através do seu Serviço Municipal de Proteção Civil, e em colaboração com as juntas de freguesias, irá a levar a cabo, mais uma vez, uma ação de proximidade que visa a prevenção ao flagelo que são os incêndios florestais nas freguesias com área florestal e rural, nomeadamente na freguesia do Ameixial, Salir, Alte, União de Freguesias Querença, Tôr e Benafim, S. Clemente, S. Sebastião e Boliqueime.
Com início no mês de março e decorrendo até abril, este programa consiste num contacto direto com a população, com especial enfoque na proteção das habitações e nos aglomerados populacionais, por forma a reduzir ou mitigar os riscos a que poderão estar sujeitos.
Este projeto de proximidade é baseado no contacto direto com os proprietários, divulgando as medidas preventivas, comportamentos de autoproteção e procedimentos na realização de queimas, visto que as queimas descontroladas têm sido a principal causa dos incêndios florestais que assolam o país.
É de referir que também são colocados e distribuídos cartazes e folhetos alusivos às temáticas abordadas, nos locais de encontro da população, tais como edifício da junta de freguesia, cafés, sociedades recreativas, casa do povo e mini mercados, mercearias, drogarias e nas caixas do correio.
